Yep! We did it... we became pet owners today. Kitten owners. With full intentions of getting a kitten today. I dragged Nate to the pet store where a local feline rescue shelter was going to have kittens available for adoption today. We filled out the application, they checked our references (thanks Bailley and Jenelle :) ) and we passed the parent test. I already knew that i wanted one of the black fluffy kittens. However, we were not expecting to walk away with both brothers. After some discussion about it, we gave in. We couldn't bear to separate brothers so... we got kitten twins.

Both kittens have very distinct personalities so far. We have Torrence, who is a little more docile and shy. He is very content doing whatever and doesn't fight to get to the food dish.
And then we have Sherman. Sherman is hyper active and loves to play. He is first to the food dish and it takes more than just a little noise to make him jump. He also doesn't know when to slow down. He goes and goes and goes and then suddenly he crashes and is fast asleep.

Torrence is named after Iain Torrence, the Princeton Seminary President.

And Sherman is named after Sherman Alexi, one of Nate's favorite authors from Spokane.

I LOVE them and couldn't be happier with how today's events unfolded. :)

Love you Both,
MOM
I should say love all 4 of you!
MOM
I am so jealous!
Good call on getting both...they will love having each other to play with and now you and Nate can each have one to snuggle with! Oh, I want to go get another kitten right now!!! Keith's mom just got one and I went to play with her today to get my kitten fix. Ours are sooooo old now (1 and 2 years). Keith refuses to let me become a "cat lady" although I don't think that reputation would be so bad! Congratulations to both proud parents :)
Since nobody is saying it I feel compelled as big sister to do the honor: So it begins! You've begun on the slippery slope and there is no turning back. Goodbye "just the two of you" and hello parenthood. I mean REAL parenthood. I give you guys 2 years max. You can take that as a challenge. The kittens are adorable, although I am still wishing you would have taken lucy! :) lotsa love, steph
